Adobe Creative Suite
For the first cloud-based release of Adobe Creative Suite, we proposed that Adobe look beyond software, celebrating the creative freedom of its users and the emotional power of the creative process.

At the heart of each product identity are people. Each product design celebrates the importance of personal expression.

Airbnb
To celebrate the launch of airbnb’s new brand identity create.airbnb.com was born to bring the spirit of belonging throughout the community. The site allowed members to make their own personalized symbol of belonging, share their stories, and bring their personalized symbol home via custom ammenities with their very own logo.

Since every single airbnb trip is unique, we wanted to give our users a way to express that individuality and make their own symbol of belonging.

Users can customize their own “Belo” identity with color, texture, illustration and text of their choosing. Upon finalizing their own unique identity, the logo is posted on their airbnb profile, rental pages and even customized onto ammenities for the home.

Kalla Flowers for FTD
Kalla, acquired by FTD, is an online white-glove floral delivery service embodying hospitality, joyfulness and grace with the goal of elevating everyday celebrations.

The floral industry has become saturated with generic arrangements and an assembly line approach — particularly when it comes to online and mass market retailers. We wanted to bring a hand-crafted, personal connection back to flower delivery while offering an incredibly unique experience. Every relationship and occasion is different, so the craft and thoughtfulness that goes into each Kalla delivery makes it all the more meaningful from hand picked stems to a custom video message delivered in parallel with the flowers.

After choosing a seasonal bouquet, customers select from Christopher Elbow chocolates printed with Kalla’s brand patterns or Hill Family Estate wine wrapped in Kalla patterned paper.

One of the most revolutionary aspects of Kalla’s service is the video message delivered in parallel with the flowers.

At the opening party at the Soho House in Miami, Florida, customers could begin browsing and shopping the site.

Google Store
Google had a growing family of devices that were sold on a tab within the Play store, a place to buy low cost games and apps.

Our mission was to create a beautiful, unified experience that would elevate the growing hardware family of Google devices, and demonstrate the power of Google’s services like Search, Maps and Android.

The Google Store serves a number of hardware-specific needs, from customization options with multiple SKU's per product line, to education and marketing, to accessories and new product onboarding.

Product pages get straight to the point, starting by letting the user look at the hardware up close.

We worked closely with Google as they prepared to launch Material Design, and we were the first Material Design web product from Google. Daily visits increased by a factor of 3x compared to the Play Store, and the store enjoyed a 3x increase in transactions
 and annual revenue.

The Google Store features consistent photography, a voice that clearly stated the benefits of each device, and a holistic UX experience that was as simple, delightful and elegant as Google Search.

Project M
Project M is a platform to drive positive change, challenge the status quo, and think wrong to collaborate and generate ideas and projects bigger than themselves.

Project M is an immersive program designed to inspire designers, writers, filmmakers and photographers that their work can have a positive and significant impact on communities around the world. Founded in 2003, Project M has conceived and designed projects in Maine, Costa Rica, Ghana, New Orleans, East Baltimore and Alabama.

Below are a sampling of location specific “labs” and their impact.

Mav Lab, Half Moon Bay, California

Mav Labs, named for its iconic location at the entrance to Mavericks surf spot, built their practice around a creative exercise that challenges our brain’s synaptic connections called “Thinking Wrong.” The process encourages participants to cast off embedded assumptions and approach design with a fresh perspective.

The ultimate goal is to bring together interdisciplinary teams of creative individuals who work to solve big design challenges.

Blank Lab, Greensboro, Alabama

Blank Lab is, at its essence, a bare bones mobile studio bringing designers and communities together. The conversations that will naturally occur when disparate groups are introduced, possibly for the first time, will be the catalyst for design projects meant to foster positive change.

Pie Lab, Greensboro, Alabama
The concept is simple. Pie + Ideas = Conversation. Conversation + Design = Social Change.

Nada Bike, Half Moon Bay, California

How might we open source bike knowledge to empower individuals to make their own decisions and learn that they need to have full control of their transportation?  Nada bike presents less cars. Less gas. Less smog. Less paint. Less gears. Less lycra. Less fat. Less is more.
