Samsung Reader
Young people are not reading in the same way as their parents. They read, but existing services just don’t have an appeal for them. Samsung’s goal was to bring a diverse assortment of content together from across the internet into a new and unified experience serving as a core brand differentiator.

Samsung’s Milk Reader offers users a daily dose of new content from an array of subjects including sports, science, entertainment, travel, pop culture, and trending books.

Work created while employed at Odopod.

The Milk Reader allows users to quickly flip through content and save or remove suggestions from their daily feed. The app curates suggestions based on users reading patterns. The more a user interacts with the app the more personalized it gets.

Opening and closing articles were made to feel seemless by having the cards transform as the user moves through the app.

Simple gestures such as swiping down to save and up to dislike let’s the app learn from the user. Suggested articles and content are the curated based on these patterns.

Motion is an important characteristic that communicates feeling and tactility in the app. By injecting related content both within and at the end of the article, the user is able to continue reading without the need of returning to the feed.
